Graphic Arts Internship

Position Summary:  

The Graphic Arts Internship is an educational opportunity that will allow you to apply the concepts that you learn in class to a working design studio.  The internship position is for college students studying or concreting in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field. Creative tracks or graphic art minors considered.  This program will provide a unique perspective on  creative design work in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Reports to the founder of a design studio. 

This position is an in-person internship with regular in-person meetings with the design studio’s founder.  

  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing graphics for digital and print materials, including but not limited to, social media graphics, marketing collateral, website assets, and invitation suites for clients
  • Brainstorm and contribute innovative design ideas that align with the company's branding and marketing objectives
  • Edit and retouch images to meet social media requirements, ensuring high-quality and consistency across social media platforms
  • Organize and maintain design files and assets, ensuring easy access for the team.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and software to improve design skills.
  • Collaborate with social team to ensure designs effectively communicate the intended message and meet project goals.
  • Assisting with product photography as needed
  • Managing organizational and administrative tasks as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year university (or graduate program) with a major in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field. 
  • Students are not required to earn internship credit to participate, but can do so if they choose, once selected for the position. If you are interested in earning credit, please let us know during the hiring process.

Required Competencies: 

  • Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Knowledge of design principles, typography, and color theory.
  • Exceptional time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrate trustworthiness, the utmost discretion, and responsibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Resourceful and able to think creatively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A portfolio showcasing your design work (please include a link or attachment).
