Prevention Coordinator

Region 3 Behavioral Health Services in Partnership with the Buffalo County Tobacco Free Coalition (BCTFC) is hiring for a Prevention Coordinator

What you’ll do!

Provide technical assistance, training, and support to communities and coalitions working to reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug misuse in their community. The Prevention Coordinator implements the goals of the BCTFC work plan including reducing tobacco use, vaping, and eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke.

What you’ll need!

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field. 
  • Experience working with diverse groups.
  • Basic understanding of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention concepts and services.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to independently plan and organize time, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Facilitation skills to effectively teach Mental Health First Aid Training and Drug-Free Workplace Training.
  • Ability to effectively write grants.
  • Marketing/Media experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Satisfactory background check is required.

Who we are!

Region 3 Behavioral Health Services, one of six Behavioral Health Regions in Nebraska, is responsible for the development and coordination of publicly funded behavioral health services within its 22-county service area encompassing central and south central Nebraska. Region 3 contracts with and manages a network of community-based behavioral health providers. The system offers a comprehensive array of prevention, treatment and recovery support services for individuals across the life span experiencing a behavioral health challenge while focusing on the support of wellbeing, resiliency, recovery, and quality of life.
