AmeriCorps Member
Clinch-Powell's Appalachia CARES program is currently recruiting AmeriCorps members to serve with nonprofit organizations in Cocke County. Members will provide critical service to people impacted by Hurricane Helene and support Living in Place services for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Members will help their community while building resumes with on-the job experience!
Position details -
- AmeriCorps national service position
- 20-30 hours required per week (450 minimum hours required)
- 3 or 4 month position (commitment and contract required)
- Service headquarters - Newport, TN (with sites throughout the county)

Basic Requirements -
- Age 17+
- National service criminal history check, including FBI fingerprinting (for 18+)
- US citizen or permanent resident
- Reliable transportation to and from various worksites
- Reside in Cocke County, TN or within reasonable daily commute
- HS diploma and/or currently enrolled in high school, college, technical training, or GED program

- Leadership (community, school, teams, clubs)
- Technical training or course work related to home repair, building, contracting, etc.
- Interior and exterior painting
- Volunteer work or experience with seniors, people with disabilities, childcare, etc.
- Strong photography and social media skills
