Undergraduate Creative Writing Coordinator Intern - Department of English

About the Office: 

Intern will report to the Director of Creative Writing in the Department of English.

About the VOLinternship Program: 

The VOLintern Program is UTK's on-campus internship program. Each internship will run for the duration of one academic semester. Students will be able to gain real work experience without leaving campus! Gain access to real-world experience, enhanced professional development, and industry mentors by applying now! 

About the Internship:

Intern will serve as coordinator for the undergraduate creative writing concentration. Creative Writing has many student-run organizations operating independently of one another, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including: Creative Writing Club; Writer's Block Open Mic Series; the Phoenix Literary Journal; Grist: A Journal of the Arts; Chiasmus Reading Series. 

Internship Responsibilities: 

• The coordinator intern will facilitate planning, organization, and communication across Creative Writing Program entities, improving visibility and participation.
• The intern will also create and manage social media content for the entire Creative Writing Program.

Qualifications: 

• Candidate should be an active member of the Creative Writing Concentration and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
