About the VOLinternship Program: 

The VOLintern Program is UTK's on-campus internship program. Each internship will run for the duration of one academic semester. Students will be able to gain real work experience without leaving campus! Gain access to real-world experience, enhanced professional development, and industry mentors by applying now! Each position will be open for a minimum of 1 week and has the chance to close early due to an influx of applicants, so make sure to apply today! 

About the Internship:

The student will work with a BAS professor to create a Python-based machine learning course for undergraduate students. The student should have expertise in data description, cleaning, visualization, and basic machine learning models. All these tasks will be performed with Python and, optionally SQL database.

Internship Responsibilities: 

• Develop course lessons, examples, and hands-on exercises. Create datasets, annotated scripts, assignments, and quizzes. Test and refine materials for clarity and accessibility. Align course content with objectives set by the supervising professor.

Qualifications:

• A BAS major who received an A in BAS 474 or a computer science major.
