Summer Camp Leads & Teachers (Science, Art, Literature)
Minneapolis Community Education (MCE), part of Minneapolis Public Schools, offers fun, hands-on enrichment programs for youth during out-of-school time — including summer. In small classes, young people build strong relationships, explore new interests, and grow their skills alongside supportive adults (THAT'S YOU).

Common Ground Nature Camp
Common Ground Nature Camp offers an active, nature-centered summer camp for K-5 grade students at Dowling Elementary School! Rooted in community and a sense of belonging, the seven-week camp will explore our shared urban backyard through science, art, storytelling, and weekly guided adventures. Students will gain confidence in moving through our world with lessons in social consciousness, environmental stewardship, and even water safety!
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 9a - 4p
- Start: Monday, June 22
- End: Thursday, August 6
- Location: Dowling Elementary (3900 W River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55406)
- Training: Late May – early June (exact dates TBD)
We're looking for someone who:
- Shows up on time, ready to lead and have fun
- Brings positive energy and good vibes to every class
- Plans and/or helps lead hands-on, youth-centered activities (don’t worry — we’ll help!)
- Is willing to learn and apply classroom management skills while building strong relationships with students
We're hiring for the following:
- Group Leads: guide student groups through their day and assist specialty teachers with daily activities (i.e. "homeroom teacher")
- Specialty Teachers: lead daily lessons for different student groups throughout the day (areas of focus: science, art, storytelling/literature/social studies)
- Group Assistants: assist Group Leads and Specialty Teachers in keeping students safe, supported, and engaged
