Impact Internship Grant Application | Summer 2026
The Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration is now accepting applications for the Impact Internship Grant!
This competitive funding opportunity supports students completing unpaid or low-stipend internships with organizations making a positive social or environmental impact.
About the Grant
The Impact Internship Grant is designed to help alleviate financial barriers that often come with unpaid internship experiences.
Award Amount: $500–$2,000
Term: Summer 2026
*Deadline to Apply: Friday, April 17th, 2026
Eligibility
All UTK students are eligible to apply if they:
- Have secured a Summer 2026 unpaid or low-stipend internship
- Must have completed 30 credit hours of coursework by the time the internship commences
- Minimum cumulative of 3.0 GPA at the time of application and during the award period
- Are interning with a nonprofit, social service agency, educational institution, environmental organization, or similar impact-focused organization
- Are completing the internship outside of required major coursework
*Please Note: Internships, practicums, or placements required for your academic program are typically not eligible. Internships completed outside of or in addition to major requirements may qualify.
Application Materials
A completed application must include:
- Resume
- Budget Form (attached within the application)
- Employer Verification Form (attached within the application)
- Short Answer Responses (attached within the application)
Important: Upload the Employer Verification and Short Answer forms under the “Cover Letter & Transcript” section in the application system to ensure all required documents are submitted.
