Staff Accountant — LNG Landscapes | Lakeland, MN
Pay: $53,000–$60,000/year or $25.00–$30.00/hr (DOE) | Full-Time, Year-Round
THE OPPORTUNITY
LNG Landscapes is a growing full-service landscape firm in the Twin Cities. We're hiring a Staff Accountant to own our financial operations and grow into a Controller role as we scale. You'll work directly with ownership, see every number in the business, and have real impact from day one.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Job Costing — Track labor, materials, and subcontractor costs against active landscape projects. Work with project managers to keep jobs profitable and accurately allocated.
• Customer Invoicing — Generate and manage client invoices for design/build and maintenance work. Monitor outstanding balances and drive timely collections.
• Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable — Manage the full AR/AP cycle including vendor payments, aging reports, and reconciliation.
• QuickBooks — Primary system. Bank reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger management, and monthly close.
• Aspire CRM — Pull job data and project financials from Aspire and sync with QuickBooks. Experience with Aspire, LMN, Jobber, or ServiceTitan is a strong plus.
• Employee Time Tracking — Verify crew time entries, coordinate with field managers on discrepancies, and ensure payroll accuracy.
• Payroll — Process payroll, manage deductions, and maintain compliance.
• Financial Reporting — Prepare monthly reports, cash flow tracking, and Google Sheets dashboards for ownership.
• Tax Prep — Coordinate with our CPA on quarterly and year-end filings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience (internships count if substantive)
• QuickBooks proficiency
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
• Understanding of AR/AP cycles and basic payroll
• Interest in job costing or project-based accounting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with Aspire, LMN, Jobber, ServiceTitan, or similar field service software
• Construction, trades, or service industry exposure
• Experience with employee time tracking or workforce management tools
