Marketing Communications Coordinator
We are currently looking to hire a Marketing & Communications Coordinator (entry-level, recent graduate, or paid intern with growth potential) and would love the opportunity to connect with talented Ohio State students and recent graduates.
This is a unique position that offers hands-on experience across marketing, public relations, content creation, digital media, community engagement, and brand development. We are looking for someone who is creative, curious, organized, and excited to learn. While experience is helpful, attitude, initiative, and a willingness to grow are even more important.
Location: Columbus, Ohio (In-Office Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Create and manage content across social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other emerging channels.
- Develop and maintain social media content calendars.
- Capture photos and videos and assist with short-form video editing.
- Write engaging captions, newsletters, blogs, and marketing copy.
- Help execute digital marketing campaigns and monitor campaign performance.
- Track analytics and identify opportunities for audience growth.
- Assist with graphic design using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Public Relations & Community Engagement
- Support local and national public relations initiatives.
- Coordinate community partnerships and outreach efforts.
- Help prepare press releases and media pitches.
- Assist in responding to media inquiries.
- Work alongside outside public relations agencies and marketing partners.
- Identify opportunities for earned media coverage and storytelling.
Podcast & Brand Development
As our brands continue to grow, this individual will also have the opportunity to support podcast production by:
- Learning podcast publishing and distribution.
- Creating promotional content from podcast episodes.
- Repurposing long-form content into social media assets.
- Assisting with future podcast marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing.
- Comfortable using Canva and Microsoft Office.
- Video editing experience (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc.) is a plus but not required.
- Organized, dependable, creative, and detail-oriented.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Comfortable working with executives, community leaders, media professionals, and creative partners.
