GA - OIT Communications and Creative Services

This Graduate Teaching Assistantship, a twelve-month, half-time appointment, carries a stipend and a waiver of tuition and maintenance fees, including the summer session. A half-time Graduate Teaching Assistant works 20 hours per week. 

 

The Graduate Teaching Assistant provides technology support to the OIT staff, faculty, and students. Duties may include several of the following:

 

  • An interest in audio and video, live event presentations, or related entertainment fields
  • Consult with clients (faculty, staff or students) about AV capabilities and best practices on location
  • On-location troubleshooting
  • Recording lectures
  • Audio/video equipment operation (cameras, microphones, mixers, video switcher)
  • Editing videos, video production
  • Digitize media for instruction
  • Teaching technology workshops under the guidance of a trainer
  • Production of process documentation
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who have experience in several of these areas: 

 

  • Video production experience
  • MS Office Excel
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Development of media-rich presentations, screencasts, video and audio
  • Computer technology training 

 

The ideal candidate must possess good communication, organizational, and customer service skills, the ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines, and the aptitude to learn and apply new technology skills quickly.
