Residential Painter

JOB SUMMARY

Right now we're still in the exterior season, so any day the weather's good, we're outside. Every other day, and all through the interior season, we're inside working ceilings, walls, and trim.

We're hiring a full-time painter who takes pride in clean, sharp work and wants steady local hours with an awesome team and a company that's set up to do it right.

REQUIRED:

• Interest in learning painting trade practices and processes
• Commitment to showing up on time, ready to work
• Basic familiarity with hand tools (or eagerness to learn)
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet and on ladders all day
• Willingness to be trained to regularly climb and work on a 40' ladder
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Able to pass a background check

PREFERRED:

• Residential painting experience
• Experience working in occupied homes and around customers
• Airless sprayer experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Clean and treat surfaces before coating — pressure washing, brushing, scraping, and various cleaning agents
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, and shaving
• Prep surfaces properly: caulk, fill, sand, scrape, mask off floors, trim, and furniture
• Apply primer and finish coats by brush, roller, and sprayer
• Cut in clean, straight lines
• Complete repairs
• Work safely from ladders and steps
• Protect and move furniture, and leave the site clean and safe every day
• Check your own work as you go — catch issues before they become call-backs
• Communicate politely with homeowners on site

SCHEDULE & PAY:

• Full-time, Monday-Friday, roughly 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Local work - most jobs within 10 miles of Olivette
• $20 - $28 per hour, based on experience
• Overtime available in busy season

* Wage based on experience. We're happy to train an Excellent Person with zero painting skills, but a desire to learn the trade! We're also happy to have an already Excellent Person with skills join our team!
