Seasonal Interpreter Recreator (SIR)
 Salary: $10.95/Hr., 37.5 Hours Weekly

Our Tennessee State Parks are among the most beautiful parks in the United States. We are seeking candidates who enjoy the outdoors, working with diverse age groups including children, and are comfortable in general with wildlife interactions. Some experience with outdoor camping, canoeing, boats, hiking, climbing is preferable. Housing for the summer is provided at most assigned parks. 

Highlighted Responsibilities:
·   Provide interpretive programs for park guests including guided tours, hikes, workshops, canoe floats, demonstrations, campfires and other outdoor activities.
·     Work with Park Rangers to ensure park facilities, buildings, grounds and equipment are secure.
·   Handle some general administrative duties to support the needs of the park including writing reports and maintaining assigned park records.
·  Work directly with guests of the parks to share the history and story of the park. Become knowledgeable of park resources and guests’ options to be able answer general questions about the park.

Additional Requirements:
·     Applicant must be a sophomore by credit hours and be able to provide a copy of his/her current college transcript if selected for an interview.
·     A valid Driver’s License is required by all applicants.  
·   Candidates who are selected for the program will need to obtain a valid Tennessee Boater’s License and must pass a criminal background check.
