The photographer will work collaboratively and independently among a team consisting of both students and staff (graduate and professional). As the video content creator, this student will work on the following:

  • Photography projects: Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom to develop:
  • Student-Driven Content: the student photographer will contribute their own ideas for unique content, and work independently or with a team of students, to infuse photography into @UTKStudentLife social channels.
  • Special Projects: this intern may be assigned other projects outside of the prior categories as needed.
  •  Creative Marketing Services:  As part of the team, the student members will use their voices and experiences as students on UT campus to develop creative marketing strategies to connect with students. This will help bridge gaps between professional staff and the student population.

OFFICE HOURS:
  • Students will be scheduled within standard business hours; M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Some assignments may take place after 5 p.m. or on weekends as the student's schedule allows.
  • Total hours per week is flexible with the student’s availability and desire but will not exceed 20 hours per week.
  • Remote work can be requested on a case-by-case basis

  • Leadership: collaborate with the talents and strengths of team members to coordinate and execute marketing efforts
  • Professionalism and work ethic: practice good work habits including punctuality, communicating effectively with peers and supervisor, demonstrate personal accountability and integrity, work independently, and manage multiple projects
  • Career management: seek out and identify opportunities to strengthen resume and portfolio

QUALIFICATIONS THAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED
The skills and qualifications below will aid in your success but are not required.
  • Animation experience
  • Videography and editing skills · Photography experience
  • Prior experience representing an organization on social media
  • Demonstrated experience working in design software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Experience in Canva
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to follow direction
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Ability to represent the University of Tennessee effectively and positively
  • Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, discipline, and self-confidence
  • Recommendation from current or former faculty/supervisors/mentors

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Depending on the needs of your major/minor or program, practicum or capstone credit may be supplemented by this position. If you are seeking to utilize this, please reach out to your advisor and our team to discuss further development.
Students must be a currently enrolled and full-time; must maintain a minimum 2.5 institutional GPA and maintain good conduct and academic standing; must pass a background check.
