Job Title: Analyst, Structures and Pricing

Reports to: Manager, Structures and Pricing

Location: Houston, hybrid schedule.

 

Help us accelerate the future of energy and join our Structures and Pricing team!

 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Support AES Clean Energy deal pipeline with construction of revenue curves, deal modeling, structuring, valuation, and other Structures & Pricing tasks
  • Coordinate with Origination, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Growth teams to ensure assets, Power Purchase Agreements, and other structures are correctly valued and represented
  • Contribute to structured renewable power model library as needed and implied by the deal pipeline 
  • Work with Term Trading and Structured Trading to ensure revenue curve and structured deal valuation is aligned with AES Clean Energy power market view 
  • Work with ETRM team to ensure adequate booking and representation of signed contracts 
  • Work with the isk Management team to follow internal processes and guidelines for model validation and risk estimation
  • Develop an understanding of commercial impacts affecting AES Clean Energy business, grow their own skills and progress along the career path. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of US power markets (PJM, CAISO preferred, other markets helpful)  
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the energy industry in related functions
  • Familiarity with operating aspects of power assets and valuation of their revenue streams    
  • Functional in at least one programming language (Python, R, MATLAB, C/C++, VBA)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Physics, Science, Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics  
  • Master’s Degree in related areas preferred
