Mentor/Coach

 

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: This position works closely with the Assistant Director, Education Coordinator, Disabilities/Mental Health Coordinator, Education Quality Monitors, Career Development Specialists, Education Assistant, and Management Team to support classroom staff in the implementation of a comprehensive early childhood program in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards and compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. This position is responsible for supporting teachers by; coordinating and participating in Rapid Response Team (RRT), participating in the ELM process, providing mentoring and coaching activities, setting goals and action plans for teachers and monitoring progress, planning and scheduling mentor/coach meetings, observations, and group activities, and providing support for behavior interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum qualifications for position include passing a physical, TB screening, background check and a pre-hire drug screening prior to employment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Current Tennessee Pre-K Certification in Early Childhood Education preferred.  Early childhood course work, and/or work experience in the field of Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development required.  Must possess management, organization, training, and planning skills as well as have an understanding of Head Start philosophy and developmentally appropriate practices.  Excellent verbal and written skills are required.  Must have access to an automobile with adequate liability and no-fault insurance.  Family Resource Agency is a drug-free workplace.
