General Job Description:

This is airport operations work, at a general aviation reliever airport, patrolling and inspecting airport airfield and tenant areas for specific safety hazards, security breaches and operations and maintenance problems. Employees in this class are responsible for conducting on-going inspections of assigned airport areas to ensure proper adherence to airport rules, regulations, and safety procedures. Employees are assigned to cover designated shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Option 1:

1. EDUCATION:

Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university with major course work in aviation management, flight management, homeland security, business administration, or a closely related field.

AND


 

2. EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience in airport administration, maintenance or operations.


Option 2:

1. EDUCATION:

Education equivalent to completion of twelfth school grade.

AND


 

2. EXPERIENCE:

Four years of experience in airport administration, maintenance or operations.



NOTE: Completion of a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited college or university with major course work in aviation management, flight management, homeland security, business administration, or a related field may be substituted for the experience required.



Candidates MUST submit a copy of their official college or university transcript(s) indicating completion of the educational requirement and all required licenses, registrations, or certifications at the time of application. Transcripts MUST indicate conference of the appropriate degree. Candidates with a degree from foreign colleges or universities must submit proof of degree as certified by a professional evaluation service.
