 Arts Intern Summer 2024 (submittable.com)

The graphic design intern will learn how to design experiential graphics from concept to delivery of files for production.

The intern will work with the curators, museum editor, and installation manager to design the graphics for an upcoming exhibition while receiving guidance and instruction from the graphic design department.

They will be introduced to the systems, tools, and processes the RISD Museum uses and will practice everyday workflow, management, and design strategies.

This internship is in person. Since students will be making physical materials like text panels, labels, etc., they will need to be in the galleries frequently to access measurements, see color and scale in situ, and create mockups.

The graphic design team works in the same office space as digital initiatives staff and the two teams work closely together on all forms of creative production, both physical and digital. The in-person experience will also allow the intern to be fully immersed in that collaborative space, taking part in in-person meetings and seeing how their supervisor participates on a range of projects as part of a larger team.

Requirements:

The applicant should be in graphic design training and already have significant skills in graphic design and the use of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator for creating print design work.
