The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water has an opening for a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer in the Southeast California Section. The position is for the Imperial District located in the San Diego office at: 2375 Northside Drive, Suite 100 San Diego, CA 92108

The incumbent will be the District Engineer for the Imperial District in the Division of Drinking Water’s Field Operations Branch responsible for supervising a team of engineers providing regulatory oversight for the California Safe Drinking Water Act to approximately 130 public water systems in San Diego and Imperial counties.

Duties:

The Senior Water Resource Control Engineer (SWRCE) is expected to work independently, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The SWRCE will maintain consistent and regular attendance, communicate effectively (orally and in writing if both appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; develop and maintain knowledge and skill related specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
