The State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection (DESPP) is recruiting a Qualified Craft Worker (Automotive And Mechanical Equipment) to join our Fleet Administration Department in Colchester, Connecticut.
This position is full time on first shift, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Performing highly skilled tasks in accordance with standard automotive and mechanical equipment trade practices and codes;
- Diagnosing failure in all types of automotive and heavy mobile equipment;
- Servicing, dismantling, overhauling and reassembling front ends, engines, standard and automatic transmissions, rear ends, hydraulic systems and automotive electrical systems.
- Snow & ice removal season is from November 1 through April 15 each year. This work is mandatory and requires being called in after hours and may require multiple days per event. As a Qualified Craft Worker within DESPP, you will be an essential employee and attendance is required even if the State is closed by the governor.
