Events Internship, Fall 2024 (Based in Washington DC)

What you get to do: 

As part of the Events Team, this internship will work directly with Events staff members on various projects. 

  • Assist in day-to-day organizational tasks and coordination of event production materials.
  • Assist with creative activations, brainstorming, and post-event reporting
  • Assist with speaker prep, recording, and technical assistance for virtual events
  • Help with venue scouting, walkthroughs, staffing, and other support for in-person events
  • Manage long-term and short-term research projects
  • Assist and support other departments within the organization if needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Who you are:

  • Interest in a career in event planning, progressive issue-based advocacy, logistics, and/or operations
  • Hospitality, events, and/or customer service background
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to ask questions
  • Resourceful attitude and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is a must
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Well-organized with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time in an efficient manner
  • Ability to work in a high-energy environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Available to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings and events as needed


This internship is a compensated, part-time position, offering the flexibility to take additional hours during non-business and weekends. The hourly rate is $18.



The application period for the Fall 2024 Internship Program is now open, and we are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. The Fall program dates will begin in late-August and end in mid-January, with some flexibility.
