The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Quality (DWQ) has an opening for an Environmental Program Manager II in the Surface Water/Regulatory Branch. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 15 Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, Division of Water Quality (DWQ), and consistent with the State Water Resources Control Board and nine Regional Water Quality Control Boards' Strategic Plan, the incumbent oversees the Surface Water/ Regulatory Branch and assists the Deputy Director in developing policy; planning, directing, and coordinating the work of the Division. Consistent with good customer service practices, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide excellent customer service, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external stakeholder input when performing the duties of this position.

 

Duties:

The Environmental Program Manager II (EPM II) plans, organizes, and directs Division programs and policies of major sensitivity and complexity including programs and policies that will have statewide effect on water quality, which affects both water supply and the environment. The EPM II is responsible for timely completion of program objectives and submittal of high quality, technically sound work products. The EPM II also manages and directs professional staff. The activities performed by the EPM II often carry major statewide social, economic, and environmental ramifications.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Salary: $14,141.00 - $16,065.00 per Month
