This intern position requires you to be in a hybrid working model based at the Staples Promotional Products locations in either St Louis/Orange City/Overland Park, Missouri.
Program Start Date: June 9, 2025
What you’ll be doing:
- The SPP Rotational Program will be a 2-year 1-month program aimed at developing high-potential Staples Promotional Products employees. The program will allow the participants to complete 5, 5-month rotations on different teams over the course of the program.
- This role will have a diverse field of responsibility and work directly with leaders across several internal business functions
- Participants will be assigned a Talent Management Program Manager and a [Sr Manager/Director] to help guide them through their rotations. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be placed in a full-time role within our SPP organization.
- The successful participant will be a highly motivated self-starter with a passion for learning and growth, excel at building strong working relationships with peers and leaders, fostering open and active lines of communication. The individual will be driven to contribute to the success of our team and organization.
Rotation Opportunities:
- Special Order: Hands-on experience will include understanding specific client-based brand guidelines and business objectives, you will specifically source and quote products for client event activities. Strong project management and coordination through delivery will be learned.
- Merchandising: Hands-on experience will involve learning about assortment analytics and how to build an assortment portfolio to drive client’s goals. Additional knowledge around products, decoration styles, and techniques as well as technical system training will be acquired. Opportunities to create and view product presentations to clients.
- Account Solutions: Hands-on experience will allow for working with some of the world’s most valuable brands. In this role, you will learn about the customer and manage and coordinate activities around their e-store, both from product presentations and marketing calendars, as well as support specific contractual requirements of reporting. Customer engagement will required. Skills learn to include developing and executing strategies to increase sales volume as well as profit.]
- Marketing: Hands-on experience in client marketing, crafting compelling content, and analyzing results to drive engagement.
- Inside Sales: Support Inside Sales Acct Manager with customer base, driving increased penetration and sales through digital engagement, and usage of our CRM suite, all while enhancing customer satisfaction and retention through regular customer contact and utilization of internal resources for problem resolution.
What’s needed - Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising or related field
- Desire to excel and build a career in SPP
