POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for planning and executing OCA-NY community engagement programs that uplift relevant policy and organizational programs during the upcoming year spanning November through October 2025.  Our programs include Hate Crimes Prevention Project, GOTV activities, Self Defense Classes for AAPI Women, Femmes and Girls, and more.  The Programming Manager will be under the mentorship and supervision of the OCA-NY Programming Committee. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Civic Engagement: Plan and execute annual strategy by working with canvassers, organizers, and senior leadership team on voter engagement, registration, and absentee ballot “chasing.”
  • Program Development and Implementation: Design, develop, and implement programs that align with the organization’s mission, focusing on the needs of the Asian American community.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines. Support with organizational fundraising and research on potential funding opportunities.
  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partner organizations to promote programs and gather feedback. Engage residents in deep conversations around voting, laws, lawmakers, campaigns, and other organizational priorities.
  • Data Collection and Evaluation: Establish metrics for program success, collect data, and analyze outcomes to assess the impact of programs and identify areas for improvement.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Attend staff meetings, events, and actions as needed and requested by OCA-NY.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in fields such as Public Administration, Social Work, Asian Studies, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 

The Programming Manager reports to the Programming VP and is part of the Programming Committee. The Programming Manager will collaborate with the board and other partners weekly to maintain program efficiency. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must have a reliable smartphone and computer to use

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • The position is a part-time position that works an average of 60 hours per month and may include weekends occasionally.
  • This position is a flexible work arrangement where job duties may be performed remotely from home.
  • The Programming Manager may occasionally need to perform duties at event or activity locations.
