Event Manager Job Description
As the flagship fundraiser for a small private Christian school in Chester, PA, The Herb Lusk Golf Classic for Children plays a vital role in not only raising funds, but in communicating the school’s impact, encouraging increased support, and celebrating what can be accomplished when we come together to champion a cause.
This Events Manager position is key to the success of the event and requires a highly organized, creative, detail oriented and motivated person. The position coordinates multiple moving parts and deals with a wide range of event categories, including:
- Timeline Management
- Event and Tournament Logistics
- Sponsorships and Supporters
- Attendee Experience
- Vendor Management
- Budget Management
- Silent Auction and other onsite fundraising experiences
- Volunteer Management
The Events Manager must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines. They should have a passion for special events management; provide outstanding communication to staff, vendors, event attendees and volunteers; be an enthusiastic professional; and be capable of building strong and positive relationships.

- Budget management and financial analysis capabilities, maintaining accurate records of all expenditures
- Familiarity with event trends and developments
- Ability to negotiate with external vendors and service providers
- Creative thinking and ability to conceptualize unique event details
- Project management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations
- Attention to detail to ensure all aspects of the event are considered
- Proven experience in event planning and execution, ideally across various event types
