POSITION DUTIES: Perform engineering duties on a portfolio of patented technologies designed to advance water security and environmental sustainability. Specific duties are as follows: Ensure mechanical systems work safely and efficiently to meet user needs and project specifications. Collaborate with cross functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications for various projects; Assist in the design and development of prototypes; Supervise the development of CAD project drawings, models and engineering drawings; Generate test protocols and reports, manufacturing work instructions and other documentation related to product development; Conduct feasibility studies and design verification testing; Support troubleshooting and resolution of any deficiencies related to mechanical design; Conduct analysis and simulations to ensure performance, reliability and functional capabilities; Support and collaborate with Project Managers on site for proper allocation and tracking of resources; and participate in publications and patents and author white papers and orally present on the same. The position requires 10% travel (domestic and international).
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited school (GPA 3.5 or higher).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 12 months’ experience in a product development environment working with rapid prototyping techniques.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Passage of Fundamental of Engineering Exam and EIT (Engineer-in-training) license.
