Technology Education Teacher (Automotive/Outdoor Power Equipment)

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Technology Education Teacher focusing on Automotive & Outdoor Power Equipment. This role involves teaching students about repair, maintenance, and technology in the automotive and outdoor power equipment industries. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on instruction, prepare students for future careers, and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction on automotive and outdoor power equipment systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, steering/suspension, fuel systems, and diagnostic tools.
  • Implement a District-approved curriculum incorporating both classroom learning and hands-on experience.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed when working with tools and machinery.
  • Manage and maintain lab equipment, tools, and classroom resources.
  • Provide students with real-world applications of learned concepts.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and hands-on projects.
  • Collaborate with local businesses and industry professionals to stay current with trends.
  • Organize field trips, guest speakers, and internship opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress and expectations.
  • Support personalized learning and inclusive teaching practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Certification:
    • Wisconsin DPI Certification in Technology Education (1220) OR
    • Eligibility through the Trade Specialist Permit Pathway or Alternative Route Program.
  • Experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, or outdoor power equipment is desired.
  • Valid WI Driver’s License (if required for transportation of students or multi-building assignments).

Hours:

🕒 7:30 am - 3:30 pm; Monday - Friday during the school year
