I really enjoyed this experience. I got to spend a lot of time around various ages of kids with differing activities. The work environment was great, and I really liked all my coworkers.

Flexible hours and met lots of people in interesting fields. People like people that make their children happy so I have a few connections that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Camp Counselor

What I liked

I like the amount of freedom given to us. We are expected to utilize our resources and to get the job done on our own. My job as a camp counselor is to keep the kids happy and safe, all while embracing the nature which surrounds us. What kind of job is better than that? I have the resources and freedom to take kids canoeing, hiking, swimming, and so many other things. It is the best.

What I wish was different

The worst part about working at a resort is meeting such amazing people and kids...and then them turning around and leaving after a few days. That is still something that is hard for me working at Blackberry. I get attached so easily!

Advice

When given the freedom, embrace it! You are capable of making so many great days, starting with your own. Go the extra mile to put a smile on somebody's face, 10 times out of 10 you will never regret it.
